The idea for Argan the Warrior came to me while planning a major novel project about the days before the flood of Noah as told in the Bible. Whether you believe it was Noah as in the Bible, Utnapishtim as in the Epic of Gilgamesh, or tales of Atlantis, or any of the other hundreds of tales about a prehistoric flood that wiped out a previous civilization, the facts are obvious for any willing to look at the evidence that a world wide cataclysm happened. Massive cities vanished under the sea, cultures and societies swallowed whole in a single day leaving nothing but megalithic remnants, indecipherable writings carved in stone, and even the very oil our current civilizations thrives upon. Far away in the past, in the days before human recollection, there was a civilization we cannot fathom for its immensity, power, strength, and eventually its wickedness. In that world, the version of it that swirls in my mind now, Argan is the King of All the World, Emperor.
