Maggie Rose preferred to let things work themselves out. Confrontation was not her style. Marrying her high school sweetheart Todd when they were both eighteen years old turned out to be the single most adventurous thing she ever took on, besides having her children. In general, Maggie Rose would rather walk away from something difficult than risk attempting something she wasn’t certain would succeed.
It was not that she was a quitter. She just did not want to fail. To that end, she seldom tried.
She tried college classes in her early thirties but quit after one year, even though she had gotten a perfect 4.0 grade average. Her own expectations had become so high that she feared getting a lower grade when the courses grew harder. Therefore Maggie simply left while she was in good standing.
