Had they knocked things could have been very different. But that is the way of things today I guess.
We had just laid down in bed, my wife and I. Well, not exactly laid down, more like sitted down to watch a bit of telly as has been our regular evening routine for nearly forty years, since the last of our kids grew up and left home. Tonight we were watching a documentary about ancient Sumer and the Akkadian and Elamite empires. That region being my ancestral homeland I am always interested in what new discoveries are being made and remade. Technically I was watching a documentary about Sumer/Akkad/Elam whilst she was browsing her mobile phone looking at the latest pictures of the most recent addition to our progeny and receiving a massage to her calves to soothe after almost two hours of gardening.
